i started a wedding company with a really great close friend, sorrina, a few months ago. it’s really taken off! we shot clarissa and daniel’s wedding this past weekend, which was extraordinarily beautiful! the reception was held at cicada restaurant in downtown los angeles. here’s a preview to their first dance as husband and wife:

the art project

i’ve learned that in order to survive in this industry, you have to stay inspired at all times. it’s incredibly difficult to balance your time and your mind between the jobs that pay, and the jobs that you love. i started this art project a few months ago…it’s a combination of my beauty + boudoir work. it’s a little messy + film like, but just really raw beauty:

after a huge struggle with pancreatic cancer, mr. patrick swayze has died. as if 2009 hasn’t already taken enough amazing people from this world, they claim johnny castle’s life as well. prayers and love go out to his wife and family. overwhelming wave of sadness this evening.

i’ll be watching dirty dancing over and over again for a while!

here’s a preview to the lookbook i shot for jessica darwin’s latest collection last week. we featured darwin in the latest fashion issue of VAMPD magazine…she’s amazing! we went for a creepy, lowbrow aesthetic, so i shot everything in natural light & built a set out of distressed wooden boards. her new collection has some insane pieces; face masks, latex tanks, seamless corsets and a gorgeous couture backless gown.

it’s an editorial dream (and when has it not been?) … it’s very “i love lucy“! i love the combination of neon pops of color and nude lingerie. the models on the runway are a bit tranny, but it only adds to their “over-the-top” theme.

i’d love to see what mert & marcus would do with it!

that’s a dangerous skirt, how do you sit down?! rock & republic has a new campaign out and it’s so great (it’s probably been out for a while, but i’m just NOW seeing it, of course). i love rock’n'rolla fashion…. the combination of black, metals and lots of eyeliner. all of their new pieces are really great…they have some amazing leather jackets and shoes…though the one thing i could do without is the black fox fur bolero. who the hell is still selling fur? bleh

i was roaming new york’s one manangement website the other day and came across tasha. i’ve seen her in every magazine i’ve bought this past year, but she didn’t stand out to me until I saw her portfolio at one.

the face on this girl is breathtaking…again, the combination of my favorite features dark hair + light eyes! she’s canadian born, 30 and openly gay.

she has such a great personal style and i love that she’s a little kick ass. tried googling her bio, but i could only uncover the basics (d.o.b, home city etc).  anyway, love her face.

the fashion issue premiers tonight in los angeles!!  lucky new yorkers got a chance to see the almost two weeks ago…now it’s time for la to catch up.

Remember a little movie called The Devil Wears Prada? It’s about ANNA WINTOUR. The fashion world is at her perfectly manicured fingertips. The movie premiers in Los Angeles on Sept 11….so sit back (with your Vogue Sept Issue in your lap) and get ready to take a peek of this 300-billion industry.
